The people behind the group.
A small, senior team with deep operational and commercial experience across resources, energy and infrastructure. Collectively, the team has guided businesses through the full lifecycle — from the earliest stages of concept development and start-up, through rapid growth and scaling, equity and debt financing, complex restructuring, and public and private market transactions, to successful exits.

Nathan Mitchell
Nathan Mitchell has spent his career in the resources and energy sector. He joined the family business in 1989 and took the lead role in 2000, driving a period of rapid growth building Australia's largest private drilling contractor, before steering it to a successful exit in 2008.
Since founding Mitchell Group that same year, Nathan has built one of Australia's most active and diversified resources and energy investment portfolios. He has founded, led and funded dozens of businesses through the full lifecycle — from concept and first capital through to growth, listing and exit. Nathan has held board positions across listed and unlisted companies in Australia, Africa and USA, including as Executive Chairman of Mitchell Services (ASX:MSV).
He is widely recognised as a leader in the sector, known for backing projects at the earliest stages, contributing meaningfully beyond capital, and maintaining conviction through the cycles that deter less patient investors.

Chris Baumann
Chris leads the execution of group strategy and management of Mitchell Group's diverse range of business operations and investments across a team of 900+. He brings deep commercial experience across energy infrastructure, project financing, project development and commodity marketing, alongside significant expertise in corporate finance and investments.
